ADMINISTRATIVE

Derek Densberger

Chief Information Officer
The role of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is to establish and direct information technology services in support of the institution’s initiatives, goals, and mission; oversees the implementation of a enterprise systems; provides direction in all technology related areas in support of core institutional operations. Derek oversees and supervises the day-to-day operations of the IT staff. He holds a B.A. in Religion and completed his MBA in 2010 from Vanguard University. He is proud to be an Eagle Scout and has a passion for the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

John Mark Robeck

Applications Systems Manager
John Mark oversees the Information Systems Team that manages the University’s student database system, including system upgrades, monitoring, and, most importantly, data integrity.  He works closely with offices across campus to ensure a stable database environment while developing  process efficiencies to improve departmental workflow. John Mark is a Vanguard Alum having graduated in 1998 with a B.A. in Inter-Cultural Ministry and continued on to receive his MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Amanda Mueller

Help Desk Facilitator
Amanda coordinates and administers the operation of a centralized IT help desk, providing support across multiple platforms. She also provides high quality service and resolution to end user’s technology problems. Amanda oversees the purchasing process for all technology for the University. She completed her B.A. in Business Administration from Vanguard University in 2009.

CLIENT TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Josh Schnoor

Systems Technician I
Josh supports faculty, staff, and students with the use of university technology. He oversees multiple buildings on campus including: Scott Academic Center, Scott Annex, Nursing Program Modular, Natural Science, Cafeteria, Cove, and Founders Bookstore.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12)

Daniel Barrozo

Systems Technician I
Daniel supports faculty, staff, and students with the use of university technology. He oversees multiple buildings on campus including: Smith Hall, O. Cope Budge Library, Campus Safety, Psychology, Social Sciences, Maintenance, and Information Technology. Daniel completed his B.A. in 2004 at LIFE Pacific College in Biblical Studies.
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:4-6)

Geoff Walchli

Systems Technician I
Geoff supports faculty, staff, and students with the use of university technology. He oversees multiple buildings on campus including: Heath Academic Center, Fine Arts, Lyceum Theatre, Needham Chapel, and Dormitory Halls: Balboa, Catalina, Huntington, Laguna, Newport, and Vanguard Center. Geoff completed his B.A. in Religion from Vanguard University in 2011. He is A+ Certified and an Apple Certified Support Professional.

Jim Evans

Academic Technology Coordinator
Jim’s primary responsibility is to oversee the integration of technology use within the classroom setting. He coordinates with faculty the vision for academic classroom technology, including the use of new technologies and delivery methods. He also provides technical assistance for our online classroom, Moodle. Jim studied at both Southwestern AG University in 1976 and AGTS in 1979.

NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM

Ngan Nguyen

Network Administrator
Ngan ensures network continuity for Vanguard University. His primary responsibilities include systems backup, virus protection, I.T.’s ticketing system, and patch management. Ngan completed his B.A. from University of Minnesota, where he studied Physiology and Santa Ana College-Computer Science

INFORMATION SYSTEMS TEAM

Kyle Mack

Sr. Systems Administrator
Kyle’s primary responsibility is supporting the MyVU portal, specifically the Online Services portion.  He also provides support for Datatel Colleague to our campus users.

Jerry Kuznik

Sr. Analyst
Jerry configures and maintains application modules. His responsibilities include developing custom reports and utilities, while also providing technical assistance to the University’s financial team.
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  (Jeremiah 33:3)

Kevin Tank

Systems Administrator
As the security administrator and Datatel report writer, Kevin’s time is divided between the two areas. As a report writer, he is responsible for meeting with departments to determine what reporting needs they have and how to best deliver that information. As the security administrator, Kevin oversees the Datatel system access that end users receive.
